AWT Environmental Services, Inc. was incorporated in March of 1982 by an individual entrepreneur. At its inception, AWT was primarily in the business of waste transportation and disposal and emergency spill response.

By the early 1990’s AWT was well entrenched in its conversion to a full-service site remediation and hazardous waste contractor.

In 1994 it's founder sold the corporation to current management, which includes three family members and two other shareholders, all of whom hold operating positions and work full time at the company.

In 1995, AWT purchased the assets of Environmental Management Strategies, Inc., a competitor in the central New Jersey area, making AWT an even more formidable player in the industry. Since that time, AWT has grown in all areas, including employee size, project scale and complexity, and diversity of services. Under current management, AWT has more than tripled in size and has handled several seven-figure projects.
